The project intends to increase the sustainability of the new neighbourhood –Terra Prometida– by incorporating an individual rainwater harvesting system in each of the 133 new houses to supply w.c., showers and laundry basins, taking advantage of the high rainfall in Principe and, thus, relieving pressure on the need of treated water coming from the water network, which is currently insufficient to meet the needs of the island's population.
